Record Structure
View MSU Documentation for Record Types →
- For partially-digitized periodicals, structure an issue of the periodical as a container with a child item for each page or consecutive page range, e.g.:
| -- Collection = periodical | -- Container = volume | -- Container = issue | -- Item = page(s)
- For fully-digitized periodicals, structure an issue of the periodical as an item with multiple captures, e.g.:
| -- Collection = periodical | -- Container = volume | -- Item = issue
- For periodical collections containing a mix of partially- and fully-digitized issues within the same volume, structure using a hybrid approach, e.g.:
| -- Collection = periodical | -- Container = volume | -- Item = issue | -- Container = volume | -- Container = issue | -- Item = page(s)
- Reorder containers and items as needed to maintain sequential order
